Essential had a significant number of customers who were severely overdue in paying their bill. I implemented functionality to restrict the areas of the site which they could access and developed an entry page specific to this group of customers. The entry screen displayed their final bill, requested their payment, validated and recorded it, and when their payment was processed the account was closed. In the months following rollout, Essential successfully collected payment from hundreds of "deadbeat" customers.
